Hey y’all. That is how they say “you guys” here in the Mid-South (info provided for all my eastern seaboard friends from Maryland up to Maine). Locally, we refer to Memphis, TN here as “the Mid-South.” Welcome to the site again y’all and you guys, wherever you may be and however you say it!
A special thanks to life-long buddy, schoolmate and Butler’s Orchard bandmate Ray Gibb for providing the first comment here in the Blog.
I love the Gospel of John, it puts a lot of things into very simple language that I can understand, even though I like to read the King James Version of the Bible (KJV). Since the language of the KJV is so unique and distinct from our normal conversations today, it is much easier for me to remember exact quotations of the Scriptures that way. The quotes just seem to lodge in my head and heart when reading the KJV. Don’t worry, I am not saying the KJV is a mandatory or the only true version or anything like that, e.g., a lot of folks prefer the easy to understand and well translated New International Version (NIV). The KJV is just one that I find good for me to remember the Scriptures. Do what works best for you to put (“hide”) God’s word in your heart, and to retain and live it.
My thought for today is that life is very tough sometimes as we all well know from life itself and the school of hard knocks (“in the world ye shall have tribulation”), but the Lord is good, and He has overcome the world. So He says that He spoke these things so we can have peace in Him, and to be of good cheer. He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Put your trust and faith in Him today and let Him make that way in your life where there seems to be no way. Because…….He is the Way (John 14:6)! Let Him live in you, that you might overcome the world, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (Jesus in you is greater than the devil and humans in the world who reject or just don’t understand the grace of our Lord). See 1 John 4:4-6 for some further insights. If Jesus does not live in you yet, please see our Statement of faith on our website – www.NealDawson.com, where we have steps to accept Him into your life. Peace in Jesus to you through His Word, Neal
